This unit should bolt straight on to your MPJG engine as a direct replacement of your old felt type filter, the pipe has been annealed so it can be slightly reset if necessary, also the bolt holes might need slight adjustment as we have noticed small discrepancies in spacings.
The small steel plate goes between the aluminium filter head and the cylinder block, the reason is obvious if you inspect it.
You can see the write up about these conversions in the T Register magazine Totally T Type, September 2008 www.tregister.org/
General fitting
Fit filter head to block with steel plate and gaskets, then fit pipe to elbow with olive as supplied as shown, and tighten with brass adaptor over holes on pump. (might have to remove studs in pump for this if they are used instead of bolts)
The pipe has been annealed so it should be easy to adjust to suit holes in pump.
The little plate with the three holes is self-explanatory when you look at the back of the filter head, it goes between the block and filter head with a gasket each side to stop oil leaking out.
PLEASE CHECK THAT THE FIXING BOLTS ARE THE RIGHT THREAD AS SOME OF THESE OLD ENGINES MAY HAVE HELICOILS FITTED OR HAVE BEEN RE TAPPED.
ALSO IF THE BOLTS ARE TO LONG IT COULD DAMAGE THE BLOCK .
